Regal Moth

Also called the royal walnut moth; an orange & gray moth in a bright gold frame with ornate carved design and domed shape

Please note: this frame is secondhand, and there is a moderate amount of chipping in the gold finish along the sides/edges (see photos). I would say it is noticeable but without being distracting to the overall beauty, just a quirk in the character of the piece :)

Read artist statement

✷ The inner walls of the frame will be lined with hand-cut strips of mat board that complement the piece. Hanging hardware + artist signature on back of frame.

✷ The materials I use are often vintage, secondhand, and/or repurposed from remnants, and therefore may have minor imperfections that add to the overall character of the piece. Any flaws that I consider potentially more bothersome are shown in greater detail.

✷ The frame and painting are one complete piece; the glass is attached in a way that is intended to be permanent, and attempting to remove the glass from the frame will result in destruction of the artwork.
